Happy New Year 2023! How did you spend the new year holidays? During the holidays, I went to the Oita Prefectural Art Museum, OPAM, to see Pokémon Fossil Museum, an exhibition of Pokémon characters and fossils of extinct creatures. Even though I am not so familiar with Pokémon characters, I would like to know how prehistoric life forms were displayed in order to stimulate children's interest, hoping it may help me organize a special lesson in the summer. Visitors were allowed to take photos. Here are some I took. A Pokémon character statue was exhibited next to related fossils of extinct creatures, some of which were replicas though. In this way, children can easily connect their favorite characters to creatures once existed on the earth while learning why they disappeared and thinking how creatures will evolve.  Also. a large dinosaur skeleton model was showed next to an artificial fossil of a Pokémon character.  Visitors can realize how large those were.
